Dear Friends and Supporters,
We're excited to announce that on Tuesday evening the Boulder Valley School District Board of Directors voted unanimously to extend Sanitas Academy's deadline for meeting the conditions required to formalize our contract. The previous deadline was October 31, 2019.
This extension allows our planning team more time to focus on a couple of critical aspects of our school development, including the search for a viable facility. Here's the link to the Daily Camera article that summarizes Tuesday's discussion.
We want to send a huge "thank you" to the many members of the BVSD community who sent emails of support for Sanitas Academy and also to those who attended and/or made a public comment at the meeting. Your expressed support helps to communicate to the district and the broader community, the desire for Sanitas to launch.
We also want to express our appreciation to Superintendent Anderson, his district team, and the BOE for their partnership in bringing a new, innovative high school learning experience, accessible to all students, into our community.
We will know by mid-November if we receive the federal charter startup grant, which will provide a financial runway for us to hire faculty and address other startup costs. We will continue to update you on our progress as we seek a workable short-term facility solution and finalize our curriculum guide/learning materials. If, at any time, you have questions, thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us at email@example.com.
Thanks for your support and for sharing this journey with us!
