It is with great excitement that we are initiating the next phase of Summit Academy.
The Summit board conducted an exhaustive search of many highly qualified candidates. We unanimously selected Emily Puetz, a well-respected educational innovator, to lead us through the launch process.
Emily has spent her entire career working to transform the learning of students, educators, and schools throughout the country. She has dedicated the last 25 years to working on all sides of the learning experience – as a classroom teacher, district administrator, researcher, business entrepreneur, and charter school designer.
As an entrepreneur, Emily served 35 school districts in Minnesota leading training and facilitating problem solving sessions on issues related to leadership, innovation, and change.
Wanting to improve the quality of schools within the Minneapolis Public Schools, Emily spent several years as the Chief Academic Officer. She then led a project to redesign the governance structure of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Minneapolis-St. Paul.
In 2015, Emily moved to Colorado with her husband Sam and two little girls, Sabina and Eliana. She co-founded a consulting practice, Ideas2Impact, that works with organizations to help them execute their innovative ideas and drive social impact.
She believes that great schools are created with and by the community, which includes students, teachers, and parents as well as business and civic leaders. Her dream has always been to build a school full of changemakers – students well-equipped with critical thinking skills who are fired up to make the world a better place.
We feel fortunate to have Emily in charge of navigating our project to success.
