SUMMIT ACADEMY WAS APPROVED BY BOULDER VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT!

April 26, 2018

I  am very pleased to report that the Boulder Valley Board of Education has approved the Summit Academy Charter application with a 5-1 vote. Thank you to everyone whose contributions have supported this effort.  This is a huge milestone which “unlocks new possibilities for the future”! We appreciate your patience as this three-year process now enters another exciting phase.

The approval is with conditions that preclude the use of district facilities as was the case during approval of Peak to Peak, Justice High, and Boulder Prep. But, the approval allows ample time to develop a facility solution. We are actively examining facilities options and will keep you posted. If you have any promising ideas, please let us know.

It is too early to speculate on a projected opening date. There is a great deal of work ahead and inherent uncertainty of final outcomes. We are confident that we will continue with a strong effort, proceeding one step at a time and hoping for the best. Also rest assured that as plans progress, our top priority and focus remain the continued success, security, and longevity of Summit Middle School.

Sincerely,

Adam Galvin, Principal
